when you're water breaks
when your in active labor
WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT'S COMING & what it's going to take to get there
NOTHING ELSE MATTERS- NOT YOUR HAIR, YOUR MAKEUP, WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE, WHAT YOU'RE HAVING FOR DINNER THAT NIGHT, THE TEXT YOU FORGOT TO RESPOND TO, ETC ETC.
NOTHING.
THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IN THAT MOMENT IS BRINGING YOUR CHILD INTO THE WORLD.
& then,

you see your baby for the first time, the emotion overtakes you, & you feel everything nothing can prepare you for that

it's real, raw, messy, unpolished
just as it should be
